Vuonue’s new, thinner sock yarn Sampo is reinforced with biodegradable polyamide for durability and sustainability. This fingering-weight yarn is spun from 100% Finnish sheep wool, offering a wonderfully soft, woolly feel that’s warm and cozy -not only perfect for socks but also ideal for mittens and other accessories.

Finnish sheep are a hardy, ancient breed well-adapted to Finland’s cold climate. Their wool is known for its excellent insulation, breathability, and natural resilience, making it a fantastic choice for warm, durable knitwear. The fibers are often softer and finer than many other northern breeds, providing comfort without sacrificing toughness.

Vuonue, based in Paimio, produces stunning domestic yarns in glowing, rich shades. Be sure to check out their other eco-friendly yarn options as well.
